The Tiguan has a wider wheelbase than the Ford Escape, and it is also five inches longer and a little taller. Plus, the Volkswagen has extra exterior amenities that the Ford does not, including standard LED headlights and roof rails.

The Volkswagen Tiguan has one thing the Ford Escape simply can't compete with, and that's a third row of seating. The Ford Escape is strictly a five-passenger, two row SUV.
